8. Software aspects

Both the state representation and its generalization, LFT, are simple in their formalism, but generate very heavy calculations and delicate manipulations, often impracticable by hand in realistic cases.

8.1 Notion of object and class

It has therefore become necessary to equip ourselves with software tools enabling us to :

  • easily create LTI systems, which may be uncertain, in any of the formats discussed in this article;

  • manipulate these systems as simply as possible, performing operations on them that are traditionally performed in the complex field (additions, multiplications, inversions, linear interconnections);
