Dependability

Ability to perform as required and when required.

Function : function

The normal or characteristic actions of an element are sometimes defined along with its performance.

Fonction requise ; required function

Function, set of functions or all the functions of a good, considered necessary to satisfy a given requirement.

Reliability

Ability of a good to perform a required function, under given conditions, during a given time interval.

Availability; disponibilité

Ability of an asset to perform a function when required under given conditions, assuming the necessary external resources are made available.
