7. ST language
The ST (Structured Text) language is a high-level textual language dedicated to automation applications. This language is mainly used to implement complex procedures that are difficult to model using graphical languages. ST can be used to program actions in SFC steps and conditions associated with transitions, or to describe FC actions and tests.
7.1 ST syntax
An ST program is a sequence of statements. Each statement ends with a semicolon (";"). The names used in the source code (variable identifiers, constants, language keywords, etc.) are delimited by passive separators (space, end-of-line or tab) or by active separators, which have a well-defined meaning and act as operators (for example, the separator ">" indicates a "greater than" comparison).
