3. EPCGlobal standard

EPCGlobal, Inc. is a neutral, international, not-for-profit organization which, since 2003, has been responsible for the worldwide deployment of the EPC (Electronic Product Code) system to automate product identification in the supply chain, and facilitate inventory and production processes.

EPCGlobal Inc. is working to define several standards:

• the EPC sequential product coding system ;

• RFID tag classification ;

• network architecture for sharing and managing EPC information.
