7. Overview of security solutions

Several authentication approaches have been proposed for securing RFID systems. These approaches generally use lightweight symmetrical functions, i.e. hash functions, or binary operations AND, OR, XOR, etc. These approaches sometimes call on asymmetric cryptographic tools, such as elliptic curves or NTRU. Based on these principles, a distinction is made between symmetrical and asymmetrical solutions.
