2. Different levels of modeling abstraction

In most design cases, it is not possible to answer the questions that arise with a single model. Different models are needed to describe the various design stages. Consequently, different computer-aided design tools are adapted to model and calculate the corresponding models. These tools can be classified according to their role during the design process described by the V-cycle. Thus, the various design stages are associated with simulation tools that meet the different levels of abstraction required. Generally speaking, a level of abstraction that gives a good general view of the system will provide little detail on the system under study, while a level of abstraction that accurately describes the details of physical phenomena will only provide a view of part of the system.
