2.1 Definitions

• Automatic weighing instrument: an instrument that determines the mass of a product without the intervention of an operator and according to a predetermined program of automatic processes characteristic of the instrument.

• Automatic gravimetric filler: an automatically operating weighing instrument that fills containers with a predetermined, virtually constant mass of a bulk product.

• Automatic sorter-labeler weighing instrument: an automatic weighing instrument that determines the mass of discrete pre-assembled loads (e.g. prepackages) or individual loads of bulk products.
