3. Fundamental instruments

3.1 Function

The pressure unit can be realized using two basic instruments. The function of these instruments is to define the pascal from the basic quantities of the SI system. The equation with dimensions is based on the definition of the pascal, i.e. the quotient of a force by a surface area:

P = M \cdot L \cdot T^{- 2} \cdot L^{- 2} ou P = M \cdot L^{- 1} \cdot T^{- 2}
