4. Conclusion

After giving an overview of the latest developments in microthermocouples, whose main attraction lies in their ability to measure temperature both locally and over a very short time interval, we introduce the main fields of application as they are described. By referring to the bibliographical indications listed at the end of the article, the reader will be able to obtain all the developments available, but not covered in this presentation, which unfortunately cannot be exhaustive. There are a number of complementary papers that will enable the reader to deepen his or her knowledge, where appropriate. These are listed in this final section.
