8. Conclusion

Metrology, or more generally, the control of angles, is a vast field of dimensional metrology, both in terms of the diversity of the equipment used, and therefore of the methods of use and calibration, and in terms of the sophistication of the equipment used.

In this article, we discovered the new angular references, whose performance reaches a few thousandths of a second of angle (one hundredth of a second of angle corresponds to a deviation of 5 cm seen at 1,000 km). However, transferring these values via materialized standards can lead to significant degradations in uncertainty, due to the geometric quality of the standards or their integration conditions, as can be the case with angular encoders.
