7.1 Strength and overflow indicators
The wash fastness test involves washing a dyed sewn sample with an unbleached backing of the same material. The samples obtained are examined against counterparts that have not undergone the washing treatment. This comparison requires two gray scales: the first used for fastness is relatively dark, the other used for disgorgement is fairly light. Results are graded on a scale from 0 to 5 (5 being the best).
The associated standards are :
disgorgement: ISO 105 – A04;
strength: ISO 105 – A05.
