7. Opening up to other systems and prospects

While surface plasmon resonance sensors are beginning to make their mark on the biosensor market, we mustn't forget other parallel technologies which are already very much in evidence, or which sometimes struggle to establish themselves out of conservatism, but which are helping systems to evolve, whether in the post-experimental analysis of experiments or in the improvement of fluidics, for example.

  • Other optical technologies are also available for optical sensors, whether using waveguides or interferometry. or fluorescence. In addition, the fluorescence biochip systems that dominate the market have evolved through contact with other technologies.
