2. Definitions

2.1 Introduction

When designing a product, the design office uses a set of specifications to draw up the overall plans for the mechanism and the detailed plans for each of its components.

The design drawings, developed solely on the basis of functional constraints, are then sent to the methods department, which is responsible for ensuring that the various parts are manufactured, and to the quality control department, which is responsible for validating the conformity of the parts once they have been manufactured.
