6. Associated instrumentation

Downstream, the sensor is followed by electronic instruments whose role is to amplify the signal so that it can be used either to read a measurement, or for a control action, with all the possibilities offered by microprocessors. Obviously, it is essential that this instrumentation performs in a way that does not alter the characteristics of the preceding sensor.

A measurement chain is an inseparable whole; in particular, the instrument input that follows the sensor can, by its very nature, alter the performance obtained using the procedures described above
