3. Mechanical design of sensors

3.1 Sensor calculation

The calculation of a transducer, or more precisely of its test body, generally comes down to simple cases of strength of materials (tension, bending, torsion of beams, plates, diaphragms). Table 5 gives formulas designed to simplify the calculation of test bodies. Having chosen the location of the gauges, we can calculate the deformation ε (with its sign) for each of them. The corresponding resistance variation (with sign) is :
