Overview

ABSTRACT

Evolution of meteorology conditions determines the convenient instant so that the thermographic diagnosis shows the losses of the building and not the restitutions of the energy coming from the environment the thermal inertia of the various structures of the building is a common source of misinterpretation. The diagnosis is concluded by a relevant report describing what has been observed and analyzing the problems and their reasons : thermal isolation, cold bridge, defect related to the air, defect related to water or moisture, thermal comfort?

 INTRODUCTION

This article follows on from [R 2 742] Building thermography – Technical basics, which covered the essentials of building thermography, an overview of radiation and the radiative properties of materials, and the essential features and functions of the thermal imaging camera for use in the building industry. Readers are thus well equipped to tackle thermographic diagnosis and the various applications of building thermography.
