2. Conclusion
The non-destructive nuclear measurement techniques presented and developed in this article are, in a first approach, exclusively dedicated to the needs of the nuclear fuel cycle and nuclear process control.
The criterion for choosing these measurement methods over others is based on the nuclear aspect of the radiation emitted (or induced) by (in) the object to be controlled, on their use in an industrial environment or, where applicable, on their proven feasibility on real objects.
The passive non-destructive measurement methods concerned are gamma spectrometry and neutron counting. The former is one of the most widely used techniques –, not to say the most widely used – in nuclear non-destructive testing.
