3. Main types of biosensors

The biological activity of a compound with its substrate can be monitored in various ways, for example by oxygen or hydrogen peroxide consumption, fluorescence measurement, change in pH, temperature or mass... Many transducers have been used to develop biosensors. The nature of the transducer is often the basis for classifying different biosensors.
