Sensor
A device designed to perform a specific measurement. There are many types, which differ depending on the manufacturing technology and the physical quantity they measure. Every sensor contains a transducer.
CFO Fiber Optic Sensor; OFS Optical Fiber Sensor
A sensor in which an optical fiber typically serves as the transducer and which exploits an effect whereby the quantity to be detected interacts with one of the parameters of light. By extension, the term "CFO" is often used to refer to the entire measurement system (source + sensor(s) + analysis/demultiplexing).
Distributed sensor; quasi-distributed sensor
