4. International connections

Some international scientific or standardization institutions have all or part of their activity related to that of the International Organization of Legal Metrology, in particular, among others :

• the General Conference on Weights and Measures (CGPM) and the International Bureau of Weights and Measures (BIPM) ;

• International Organization for Standardization (ISO) ;

• the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).

Close collaboration between these institutions and OIML has been established and continues to develop.

Since 1998, OIML has had observer status with the World Trade Organization's Technical Barriers to Trade Committee.
