The range of applications for these devices is vast. They range from the simple measurement or storage of binary states, to the measurement of analog magnetic signals, to the fine measurement of signals with very low noise levels and high dynamics. With regard to the various applications presented, the performance targets are sometimes very different, and it is difficult to establish a critical comparison.
