4. Conclusion

In less than two decades, work on magnetoresistors has made great strides. It has led to the development of new devices and paved the way for real technological breakthroughs in a wide range of research fields, including fundamental physics, materials science, engineering and bioengineering.

The main revolution to emerge from this research is undoubtedly that of "spintronics". It opens up new avenues for the development of tomorrow's technologies, based on the judicious combination of semiconductors, nanowires and organic or functional oxide materials. In the years to come, this should lead to major technological advances, overcoming the limits of current technologies and paving the way for new concepts.

From an application point of view, the use of magnetoresistors by industry is very well developed, and the appropriation of these technologies...
