1. Corrective action

We assume that at this stage, the measurements and their interpretation have enabled us to identify the vibration mechanisms at the root of the disturbance. Depending on the case, this observation may be made during the initial testing of a prototype, or on an older installation with ageing problems.

When these vibrations are unacceptable in the short or long term, for whatever reason (risk of irreversible damage, product non-conformity), the engineer must devise lasting remedies, without calling the product or installation into question. This paragraph illustrates the solutions or, failing that, the palliatives most effectively employed in various fields of industry.
