5. Conclusion

Sustainable development has become a major challenge, as we strive to preserve our civilization and our planet. In this context, eco-design is at the forefront, enabling sustainable development requirements to be taken into account "at source", and it is at this level that action is most effective.

At first glance, one might think that environmental regulations would be a constraint on manufacturers, naturally resulting in a loss of competitiveness.
