5.1 Environmental impact of the process

A zinciferous waste treatment unit using the REZEDA process, such as the TREZ unit, has only a negligible impact on environmental quality if appropriate effluent management and treatment measures are implemented, such as :

  • aqueous effluent treatment and analytical monitoring before discharge into the environment;

  • air suction from the various storage tanks, collected and washed before discharge into the atmosphere, to prevent dilution of the gases produced by electrolysis (mainly oxygen).
