6. The relationship with living things: struggle as a prevailing way of thinking
Vine diseases are omnipresent in our discussions. Experienced as a constraint, they are a unique prism for reflection. This continuous resurgence in the workshop has blurred the debate. It generated a regression in collective thinking, bringing everyone back to standard reasoning, like a rubber band, when we had seen that this mode of reasoning had reached its limits. Common assertions resurfaced, such as: "Yes, but biodynamic vines have higher defense levels, it's because they have more diseases, they're poorly cared for", "These vines are not healthy, they're pale green". Researchers, in response, showed once again that defense levels were high in biodynamically grown plants, even those free of disease. As for leaf color, while chlorophyll levels differed little between practices, the light green color of biodynamically-grown vine leaves resulted from the attenuation of chlorophyll green...
