chemoreceptor; chemoreceptor
Specialized sensory receptor cell that responds to a chemical substance (endogenous or induced) and generates a biological signal. Also known as a chemosensor.
aromatic compound; flavor compound
Volatile molecule with low molar mass whose partial pressure, under normal temperature and pressure conditions, is sufficiently high for this molecule to be partially in the gaseous state and to cause a stimulus on contact with the olfactory mucosa.
