5. Conclusion

The vicissitudes of urban teleport projects and the low number of successful projects should not overshadow the intrinsic qualities of this mode of transport, which deserves its rightful place in the range of services available in urban areas.

The first quality to be highlighted is the wide variety of technical solutions available, which translates into a vast range of speeds and capacities. Whether gondola or detachable gondola, single-cable, double-cable, 2S, 3S, etc., these different configurations enable the right balance to be struck between line length, the existence or absence of intermediate stations, unit cabin capacity and maximum carousel throughput. The result is a range from the equivalent of a conventional bus to that of a tramway line!
