3. Energy performance commitment
Project owners are increasingly asking for energy performance commitments to guarantee a specified level of consumption.
There are different types of energy commitments: GPEI, CPE and ERM.
The GPEI (intrinsic energy performance guarantee) applies to both new-build and renovation projects, and concerns the project's theoretical consumption rather than actual consumption.
CPEs (contrats de performance énergétique - energy performance contracts) apply to renovation work with a commitment to actual consumption.
The ERG (energy performance guarantee) applies to both new-build and renovation projects, and concerns actual consumption.
More generically, these contracts are known as GPE (garanties de performance énergétique).
