The notion of light requirements needs to be clarified to better define the choice of lighting solutions that meet demands that are sometimes misunderstood or ignored.

1.1 The relationship between man and light

The eye is a sensor of information from our environment. Natural light is the medium of this communication system, in a world that was born with light. Light is used to see and analyze the physical elements that surround us. The eye and its visual system provide the detection, coding and cognitive interpretation needed to look, understand, act and feel safe.
