2. Operating satellite services

Satellite communications systems offer many advantages over terrestrial systems. They have the capacity to serve a wide geographic coverage at high digital speeds, and are easy to install quickly, despite geographical conditions that can sometimes make access difficult. Their service characteristics are independent of terrain. Satellites are highly immune to natural disasters, and compared with terrestrial communications systems, the return on investment has become very high and very rapid.

This whole field is currently undergoing a major overhaul, as it is mainly focused on non-stationary low-layer satellites (LEO/VLEO). The development of several satellite constellations is justified by the expected explosion in digital mobile services for every country in the world, as well as the opening up of numerous low-cost applications focused on ecology.
