5.1 Hospital Information System (HIS)

The HIS is the central hub of hospital management. It covers all information relating to nursing staff and patients. It represents a technical infrastructure (workstations, servers), combined with software (operating system, work environment and applications). It also supports the organization of care (system integration procedures, development rules, maintenance) and the logistics associated with products and equipment. There are three types of software:
