Since the signing of the Maastricht Treaty in 1992, France has been a member of the European Union. And as the world's leading economic and commercial power, the EU is committed to energy.

energy demand is growing and infrastructures are aging ;
the EU's dependence on fuel imports of all kinds (gas, oil, etc.) is increasing;
Fuel prices have almost doubled over the past two years, making it increasingly difficult for consumers to afford them;
the climate is changing as a result of the greenhouse gases emitted...
