1.1 Europe and energy consumption

Since the signing of the Maastricht Treaty in 1992, France has been a member of the European Union. And as the world's leading economic and commercial power, the EU is committed to energy.

  • The European Union's findings are as follows:

    • energy demand is growing and infrastructures are aging ;

    • the EU's dependence on fuel imports of all kinds (gas, oil, etc.) is increasing;
