4. Life cycle inventory based on Aspen models

To synthesize the inventories calculated with the Aspen software for each subsystem, the results obtained by the model were fed into the LCA-type software, GaBi 4. With this software, we can easily switch from inventories based on different reference units (tonnes of sinter, dry coal, cast iron, etc.) to an overall inventory for the system's functional unit.

To be as exhaustive as possible, in GaBi we have also introduced emissions that could not be calculated by the model: fugitive emissions and emissions for which the physico-chemical phenomena involved are too complex, notably dioxins and furans.
