4. Conclusions. Outlook
Without being exhaustive, different perspectives on the modeling aspect – simulation of air treatment bioprocesses can be put forward:
A more refined approach to mass transfer and diffusion coefficients is needed in order to better reflect reality.
Biological phenomena must be better understood and integrated into kinetic equations for pollutant transformation.
The complexity of the gas mixtures to be treated must be better taken into account. In most of the models developed, only one major and/or target pollutant is considered. However, in the case of odor pollution, a large number of compounds and their possible interactions must be included in the modeling equations for the purification process.
