7. Conclusion

This article presents the implementation of the Bilan Carbone ® , a tool developed by Jean-Marc Jancovici for ADEME, which enables companies to estimate their direct and induced greenhouse gas emissions. It takes into account the six GHGs listed in the Kyoto Protocol, and thus provides an indication of the company's impact on the greenhouse effect.

But beyond its environmental aspect, the Bilan Carbone ® is also a strategic and financial tool. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions also means reducing energy dependency, and therefore controlling costs despite possible increases in the price of fossil fuels.
