Direct application (– arrangement)
A provision of a treaty is said to be "directly applicable" when it is directly applicable in national law, without the need for one or more transposition acts, gives rise to rights for individuals and can be directly invoked by them before a national court.

An unwritten rule of international law that has developed through customary practice.
Causal link
Causation is the relationship between an unlawful international act and damage that is necessary for the perpetrator of the unlawful act to be obliged to repair the damage.
