It should be remembered that the technical and economic optimization of any industrial pollution control project depends to a large extent on the quality of the preliminary investigations described above, which must be carried out by a competent design office experienced in the field in question and, if possible, independent of companies specializing in the construction of treatment plants (water treatment companies).

These studies can be supplemented by a genuine engineering assistance or project management mission, carried out by the design office in accordance with the interests of the client (the industrialist), either in its entirety, or with the client's own services for certain parts.
