7. Linking inspections of classified facilities with other inspections

7.1 IOTA inspections (water law)

The operator of a classified facility is not subject to the procedural rules set out in the Water Act, even if his activity has an impact on the aquatic environment (notably water discharges and withdrawals).

The inspection of water abstraction, wastewater pre-treatment or treatment facilities, or of works or structures likely to affect the aquatic environment and associated with the operation of a classified facility, is carried out exclusively by the Classified Facilities Inspectorate.
