Déchet; Waste

"Any substance or object, or more generally any movable asset, which the holder disposes of or intends or is obliged to dispose of" (article L. 541-1-1 of the French Environment Code).

Sustainable development; Développement durable

"Development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs" (Brundtland Report 1987).
