5.1 Audit program

A management system audit doesn't just happen; it's part of an audit program.

According to paragraph 3.4 of the standard NF EN ISO 19011 :2018 An audit program corresponds to "arrangements for a set of one or more audits planned for a specific duration and directed towards a specific goal".

Please note that the term "audit program" is to be distinguished from the term "audit plan": an audit plan is the "description of the activities and arrangements necessary to perform an audit" (see paragraph 3.6 of the same standard).
