5. Conclusions

Due to the diversity of activities related to the food industry, it was difficult to be exhaustive in the description of analytical methods and treatments of gaseous emissions. A general approach to analysis was proposed. Due to its complexity and the concentrations encountered, it is necessary to pre-concentrate the sample before separating, identifying and quantifying the pollutants present in the gaseous discharge. Some of the processes traditionally used for air treatment can be applied to pollutant emissions from the food industry. Specific examples have been given to illustrate the point. However, given the variety of emissions, both in terms of quality and quantity, generalized treatment is not feasible.
