2. NaTech flood risk management

On August 15, 2002, a chemical plant in the Czech Republic was flooded by the rising Elbe River. Chlorine tanks were displaced by buoyancy and a leak occurred at the junction with a pipe, generating a toxic cloud of chlorine .
