The management of excavated material (polluted or not) from a polluted site must be planned by acquiring the technical data needed to optimize this management.

Excavated and disposed of off-site, soil is considered as waste, which implies producer responsibility and a requirement for traceability to its final destination.

Land can be sent :

  • to a site with the same geochemical background if they are not polluted ;

  • to a reuse route as a road underlay or in a development project subject to the issue of a permit (either directly from site to site or via a transit site or a treatment site) if they are not of a hazardous nature;

  • to a treatment plant if they are hazardous;
