2.1 What is an ecolabel?
Faced with the growing confusion of ecological information on products, ecolabels are an official recognition of a product's environmental qualities.
The "NF-Environnement" mark, owned by AFAQ-AFNOR Certification, is the French ecolabel: it is the symbol of a certification, governed by law no. 94-442 of June 3, 1994 amending the consumer code with regard to the certification of industrial products and services and the marketing of certain products. This mark applies to products intended for consumers and intermediate products. Pharmaceutical and agri-food products are temporarily excluded from the scope of the mark.
