As the two case studies show, the applicability of phytomanagement is assessed in an iterative process, depending on the pollutant management and remediation objectives. Like any other technique for managing polluted sites and soils, phytomanagement can be subject to technical constraints, from the diagnostic phase, with problems of fertility, phytotoxicity and pollutant accessibility (case 1), right through to the construction phase, with herbivory phenomena, for example (case 2)....
