1. Providing space for activities

In terms of constructed space, taking duration into account involves articulating the concomitant variation of three factors:

• over time, end-users may modify their behavior as a result of personal experience, but also of changes in their expectations resulting from new choices (career path, family background, etc.);

• activities supported by the built environment may also evolve;

• the characteristics of the location are also subject to change. Neighborhoods, the scale above buildings, can evolve as a result...
