3. 5S step by step

The various 5S stages can be grouped into two distinct families:

  • The first three stages concern actions in the field;

  • the last two stages, which consist in sustaining what has been deployed in the field.

Let's take a closer look at each step.

3.1 Seiri: to rid, to remove the useless

The first step is to sort the objects on the workstation and keep only what is necessary. There are two ways of doing this:
