Biodiversity is an adjective that describes a habitat or region as having a high level or potential for biodiversity. Today, it is increasingly used to refer to infrastructure.
Biodiversitaire; biodiversity based
The term originates from the book Manifeste pour une ville biodiversitaire by Philippe Clergeau (Éditions Apogées, 2015). In this context, it refers to a city's ability to welcome and support biodiversity. From an etymological point of view, the word refers to everything to do with biodiversity.
Bioréceptivité; bioreceptivity
Term coined by Guillite in 1995 in a scientific article. It refers to the capacity of materials to host living organisms.
