5. Which methods for which types of information

According to the European directive of 2000, water quality can be assessed according to its physical and ecological status. These states are defined using various parameters/criteria in Annex V of the directive. In the remainder of this dossier, we will assess water quality according to the measurement of its physico-chemical (overall pollution parameters), chemical (priority substances) and biological (effect, impact) characteristics.
